Addis Ababa is a city with many differences. For those seeking adventure, it offers a lively experience, but it may be tough for some. The busy atmosphere is noticeable, and while the culture is interesting, the challenges of a developing country can be a lot to handle. You will find good cafes serving traditional food, like injera, and the relaxed vibe is good for meeting locals and other foreigners. The cost of living is affordable compared to Western prices. However, rent can be high for what you get. The city's traffic is not great, with busy streets and few places for pedestrians, so be careful when you explore. You may face some issues, such as slow internet and difficulty in communication. Still, the pleasant weather and friendly community make it worth it. Just stay alert, especially in crowded places. Renting a place in areas where expats live can help you feel more comfortable as you experience this interesting city. Overall, Addis offers a special adventure full of... learning and cultural experiences!

Addis Ababa is one of those places that isn’t for everyone. If you like things neat, orderly, and stress-free, this city might drive you nuts. There’s petty crime, poverty, and a lot of inefficiencies that can be frustrating—like chaotic traffic where cars ignore lanes and sidewalks that are practically an obstacle course. But if you’re up for an adventure and don’t mind embracing the chaos,... it’s got a lot to offer. The cafes are super charming, and the food is amazing (though fair warning—you’ll probably get sick at least once). Daily life is affordable, the weather’s lovely, and you’ll meet a mix of friendly locals and expats. Internet can be hit or miss, and apartments, while modern and popping up everywhere, can feel a bit overpriced for what you get. Sure, some parts of the city are run-down, and the crowded streets can feel overwhelming at times. But if you can look past the rough edges, Addis has a unique energy and culture that makes it a really special experience. It’s definitely a city for seasoned travelers who don’t mind a few challenges to soak in something completely different.
