Athens is a unique mix of history, culture, and friendliness that appeals to many people. The locals are known for being warm and welcoming, which makes it easy to enjoy life here. The food is also a highlight, with small cafes offering good coffee and kebabs, as well as many restaurants. The city has many attractions like ancient sites and busy markets, but some areas near the center might feel a bit rough and less safe at night. However, if you go to neighborhoods like Glyfada or Kifisia, you will find cleaner streets and a better quality of life. Public transport is decent, especially the metro—it's best to stay near a station! For visitors, it’s good to look beyond the main tourist areas. You can discover local history and art, and consider taking a day trip to nearby islands, just try to avoid the ones that are too crowded with tourists. English is often understood, but using a few Greek phrases can be helpful. Overall, Athens offers a nice blend of city life and nature, making... it a great place for daily experiences. Explore carefully and enjoy the city!

Athens is an exciting city for digital nomads, blending ancient history with modern conveniences. It is generally safe, though like any big city, you should stay aware of pickpockets in crowded areas. Most neighborhoods are fine, but areas like Exarchia or Omonia can feel rougher at night. The internet is reliable in most places with speeds averaging around 50-100 Mbps in urban areas. Coworking... spaces often provide excellent connections, making it easy to stay productive. Greek food is a really tasty. Some of my favorites meals were souvlaki and gyros which are also very affordable. There are also options for vegans and vegetarians, and international cuisines are becoming more common these days. You’ll never run out of things to do. Athens offers hiking (like Mount Lycabettus), beaches nearby, vibrant nightlife, and endless museums. If you like arts and culture, there’s always a theater, live music, or gallery to explore.
