Brasília

Brasília is located in the center of Brazil. This planned city, designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, is known for its airplane shape and green areas. It feels safe to walk along its tree-lined streets, and traffic is easy—drivers usually respect pedestrians. For outdoor lovers, there are about 800 waterfalls nearby and good hiking at Chapada dos Veadeiros. The weather is generally nice, but be careful in the hot, dry months of August and September. If you like biking, Brasília has many bike lanes, and you can rent bikes using an app. The nightlife is not as lively as in other big cities, but you can find local events and small bars if you spend time with the locals. The cost of living can be high, and public transportation may not be great, but with Uber and taxis, you can get around easily.
