Brasov is a city with beautiful views and a rich history. Located at the base of the Carpathian Mountains, it is great for mountain lovers, providing quick access to hiking trails and ski areas near the old city center. You can go just 5 minutes south for great nature, offering a nice break from daily life. The food is very good, and the cost of living is low, so you can enjoy a nice meal without spending too much money. While the city has many tourists—sometimes making it hard to find a quiet café to work in—locals are friendly, and many speak English, making it easy for visitors to feel comfortable. A visit would not be complete without seeing nearby places like Peles Castle, which is just a short train ride away. However, be careful: staying further up toward Poiana Brasov may mean you do not have good internet. If you enjoy a mix of nature and culture, Brasov is worth a couple of weeks, but if you are looking for a lively social scene or a better working environment, you might... want to look at other cities in Romania.
