Cusco is a city with a lot of history, beautiful views, and lively culture. Located in the Andes, it is known as Peru's historical capital and offers great hiking opportunities, especially for those who want to visit Machu Picchu. However, it is important to know that the city is currently dealing with political and civil unrest, with protests affecting transportation and tourist activities, so it may not be the best time to go. The busy Centro Historico is a good first stop, filled with cafés and street vendors. Just be aware that prices can be higher for tourists. If you walk a few blocks away from the tourist areas, you can see local life, including busy markets. Getting around can be difficult, as bus schedules are often unreliable. It is a good idea to ask locals for help; they are usually friendly and helpful. While locals enjoy good food at reasonable prices, it may not be the same as what you find in Lima. If you are interested, you can buy the boleto turistico, which gives... you access to many archaeological sites and cultural experiences. Just keep an eye out for vendors and know that the city's Wi-Fi can be inconsistent. Overall, Cusco can offer a great experience if you are ready for an adventure and some challenges!
