I spent a month here and it was a mixed bag. If you’re into nature, hiking, and chill vibes, it’s amazing. But if you’re used to big-city convenience, it might feel tricky - places are spread out, so cheap Ubers are a must, though the costs can add up. For more urban energy, you’ll need to head to the city center. The pros? Carnival in February is wild and fun if you’re into parties. Floripa... feels pretty safe, with a friendly, middle-class vibe. The nature is breathtaking—beaches, hikes, and stunning views everywhere. Locals are welcoming, and while there aren’t tons of foreigners, there’s a small expat scene. The cons? Big bugs (cockroaches included), humid weather, and occasional rain. It’s a smaller city, so it can feel quiet outside of carnival season. The cold sea water might not be for everyone, and if big parties aren’t your thing, carnival could feel overwhelming. Overall, Floripa’s a great spot if you love nature and don’t mind a slower pace. Visiting outside the summer peak might be less crowded and easier to enjoy.
