Lima, Peru, is a city that offers a variety of experiences, making it an interesting place to visit or live. If you enjoy food, you will find some of the best dining options available. From local dishes to Japanese food, there is much to try. The lunch menus in local restaurants can provide a filling meal for just a few dollars, making eating out quite cheap. While Miraflores and Barranco are popular areas for their lively atmosphere, ocean views, and cafes, the weather can be a drawback. Many people say the gray skies can feel dull, especially if you miss the sunny summer months. Public transportation is not very good, so having the Uber app is necessary. However, be cautious, especially if you are a woman; there have been reports of harassment. Learning some basic Spanish can really improve your experience, as English is not commonly spoken. Overall, Lima has its oddities, from the loud traffic to the inconsistent food quality, but it is definitely worth visiting for its culture... and the chance to enjoy sunsets by the Pacific!
