Limassol, Cyprus, is a city that may surprise you. It is often ignored, but many who come here find a good balance of work and relaxation. This active city has nice beaches nearby and easy access to the lovely Troodos mountains for nature trips. The local atmosphere is welcoming, with many people speaking English, making it easy to meet the locals. Limassol may not be the cheapest place in the world, but the lower taxes can help with long-term living costs. It is not as budget-friendly as some other places in Cyprus, but many residents feel it is worth it for the good quality of life and new services, including popular coffee shops with good internet. However, public transportation is limited, so having a rental car is important to get around the city and visit nearby areas. While you might see a few unattractive buildings, do not let that put you off—the nightlife is lively, with busy bars and relaxed spots, and has improved a lot. Just be ready for some heat in the summer and a... little rain in the winter, but that is a small issue for living in a nice place.
