Lisbon is a city that has a lot to give, but living here can be a mix of good and bad. On one side, you will enjoy its nice views, good food, and a lively community of digital workers and expats. The weather is often pleasant, especially when compared to many other European capitals. Cafés and co-working places are everywhere, making it a popular choice for remote workers. However, the costs can be a problem. Rents have risen a lot and can be as high as cities like London and Paris, often leading to poor housing options. Many locals are being forced to leave, causing issues between residents and newcomers. Interactions with locals can vary, with some feeling unwelcome or facing rudeness, especially when trying to settle down. Also, public services and transportation can be slow, and safety is becoming a worry with reports of minor crime. If you plan to visit or live here, learning some Portuguese can help! Do your research, be ready for the busy tourism situation, and maybe think... about exploring other nice areas of Portugal too.

Lisbon is one of my favorite cities. It's getting busier, but it's still a fantastic place for digital nomads. During the summer, finding an Airbnb can be tough, but in the cooler months, there are some really great deals. If you're looking for a short-term rental, Outsite – the co-living space – is a good option too, and it helps you connect with the local community. Plus, they have a nomad... meetup every Thursday which is a cool way to meet others. Generally cafes are ok for working too, although some of them close pretty early. But....recently there are too many nomads coming to the city which makes it hard to fine the places with bargain. There's also this app called Get Croissant that lets you use different coworking spaces, which is really handy if you're only there for a short time. Overall, I absolutely love Lisbon! The food is amazing, people are nice, and you can see the ocean from almost everywhere. It really has a good vibe, just keep in mind that it might not be the best for getting work done all the time due to some cafe limitations. But still, it's such an underrated gem in Western Europe!
