Rome is a city full of history and beauty, but it has its own challenges. It can be crowded and sometimes messy, especially during busy tourist times. Public transport is not great with only three metro lines, and the buses can be very full. But, walking around feels like being in a museum. The amazing sights make it worthwhile, even if you have to avoid tourist traps to find good food. The locals are nice, and while making long-lasting friendships can be hard, there is a good expat community to connect with. The food is excellent, especially authentic Italian dishes, but watch out for expensive restaurants aimed at tourists. If you plan to visit, take your time and enjoy the art and architecture. Walk around to appreciate the nice routes, and don’t forget to find some less-known places beyond the main attractions. Just be prepared for the heat in summer and the busy city life!

Amazing historical sights and great food. Friendly people and a good expat community, but it can be crowded and messy. Public transport is a hassle, and some restaurants are tourist traps. Making friends is tough, nightlife is dull, and rent is high. Hot summers too! (Can be often 35+ degrees). Overall, Rome is beautiful but can feel overwhelming. Go in with your eyes open
