São Paulo is a large city with a mix of fun things to do and some problems. If you visit neighborhoods like Itaim Bibi, Jardim Europa, Jardim Paulista, or Pinheiros, you will find a lot to enjoy! These areas are safe and have many restaurants and bars — more than 20,000 to choose from! However, walking can be difficult, so be ready to use public transport or call an Uber to get around. Safety can be a concern, especially for the LGBTQ+ community, so it's good to stay informed. On the positive side, the city has good private hospitals, but they can be expensive. Meals at restaurants usually start at around $10. The cost of living can increase quickly, especially in popular neighborhoods. You can relax at Ibirapuera Park or visit its free art museums, and try to learn some Portuguese phrases to connect with locals — they will appreciate it! While it may not be as exciting as Rio, São Paulo has a unique charm and cultural richness that makes it an interesting place to visit. Just... remember — the weather can be a bit dreary at times!
