Split has nice waterfront views and a lot of history, all in a compact area that is easy to walk around. Imagine enjoying a drink while exploring the old stones of Diocletian’s Palace or taking a calm walk in Marjan Park. Many visitors appreciate how simple it is to get around and that many people speak English. While Split has its good points, it also has some less appealing areas. If you go too far from the old town, you might find places that look a bit rough. Summer can be very busy with tourists, so if you prefer a quieter time, late September to October is best. Also, it is seen as being more affordable compared to other popular European cities, especially if you choose to live like the locals. For digital nomads, there are many cafes with good Wi-Fi, although some have noticed that the food can be expensive and aimed at tourists. And a note—be careful about safety, as it may not be the most welcoming city for LGBT individuals. Overall, Split is a great base for adventures... along the beautiful Adriatic coast, making it a nice place to relax and meet other travelers.

Split is surrounded by beautiful coastline and the city have well preserved Old Town near by harbour. Lot of tourists and price level is quite high especially in downtown area. I took there blue lagoon boat tour with friends which was nice experience.
